Our next conference.

We are unashamedly the people of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are His through and through, and we want to build on the foundation of His word in every area of life.

Join us next July to meet others who are seeking to build on the foundation of the word of God starting with faithful worship, flowing into faithful families and on into education, business and every other corner of life.

One conference done, and may it be fruitful.

The first Sword and Trowel conference was held in July 2026, and we hope it will be the first of many. 

Over 120 people joined us from all over the UK (and some from beyond) for our first conference and business dinner in 2026, and we hope that many more will join us in the years ahead.

Sword and Trowel exists, in all that it does, so that England may once again turn to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and his word as the foundation for every part of life and society.

In future years we hope to expand on the foundation laid in 2026; more singing, more encouragement of like-minded believers as well as the growth of events surrounding the main conference; events in which faithful believers apply the word of God to all of God's world.

Sword and Trowel has a vision for multi-generational faithfulness; faithful children are a core part of that.

Children are welcome to join us for every part of the main Sword and Trowel conference, we aim to keep talks short, breaks long, and singing frequent.

THOSE WHO LOVE THE CHURCH

Love the Church

The church in the UK has many failings, and yet she is still the centre of the Lord's work in our country.

Sword and Trowel is for those who love the church and want to see her recalled to faithfulness, and is not a place to stoke discontent and bitterness against her.

THOSE WHO WANT TO BUILD THINGS

Work Together for the Kingdom of Christ

Jesus calls us to apply his word to the corners, teaching the nations to repent, believe in his word of gospel promise, and then obey all that he has commanded.

As God's people do that, they start to build things for his glory. We hope Sword and Trowel will provide plenty of help to that end.

A trowel in one hand and a sword in the other — the work needs builders. Exhibitors bring their books, trades and ministries into the hall; sponsors make the weekend affordable for families. And because good, constructive conversation is half of why we gather, the hall is built for talking: long breaks, no rush between sessions, and time to ask the questions that only get asked standing beside someone's table.

A table in the hall for the whole weekend, beside the bookstall and the refreshments, where the traffic is. Set up on the Thursday afternoon; we will not move you mid-weekend.

Every sponsor is named in the printed programme. We take no advertising that we would not want our own children reading, and we keep the platform free of it — sponsorship buys a place in the room, not a slot in the preaching.
